GLORIA ROMERO
Gloria Romero is a former democrat legislator, and was the California Senate Majority Leader from 2005 to 2008. She is an expert on the legislative process and on dealing with various unions.
Over the years she became a big advocate of charter schools, often working with people (regardless of their political affiliations) to promote and defend them. She re-registered as a Republican in the Fall 2024.
While she is not a solid conservative on every issue, she voted for Trump in 2024. She is strong on parental rights, education issues, and is excellent on protecting girls sports. She opposes Democrat authoritarianism, including on the COVID lockdowns, gender identity, crime, and the Democrats war on gas appliances.

Sadly, we have two TERRIBLE Candidates. One of them will win and affect insurance issues for all of us - our homes (whether we own or rent), businesses, etc. We all have a couple of options, and we are not all going to make the same decision.

The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association on Prop 40:
"This is the 'wealth tax,' supposedly affecting only billionaires but in fact a threat to every California taxpayer and homeowner. Proposition 40 imposes a 'one-time tax' of 5% of 'covered assets' valued above $1 billion. However, the measure includes language that allows the Legislature to rewrite the law later, potentially changing the thresholds, the assets that are covered, the percentage to be taken, and the number of times the tax would be levied. This is an entirely new type of tax, and we don't know where it will lead. Will all Californians have to submit forms to the Franchise Tax Board declaring their assets every year? How much will ordinary Californians have to pay for 'wealth tax preparation' to comply with this law?"
