Robyn Nordell's Recommendations on STATEWIDE RACES
Governor, Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, Controller, Treasurer, Attorney General, Insurance Commissioner, California Superintendent Of Public Instruction, and Board of Equalization
GOVERNOR
Many conservatives are passionate about their candidate for governor. You and I may come to a different conclusion, but here is WHY I (Robyn) Voted for STEVE HILTON.
Both STEVE HILTON and CHAD BIANCO are (mostly) conservative and either of them would make a good governor. Having said that, I voted FOR Steve Hilton, as I believe he has the better policy plans and better strategies for governing (see below). More importantly, I voted to FOR Steve as I believe that he is the only Republican who has a pathway to earning a spot in the two-candidate run-off election for CA Governor. Due to California’s terrible top-two primary system, the candidates who finish first and second in June advance to November, regardless of party. It is highly likely that the November Governor run-off race will either be between Republican Steve Hilton and one far-left Democrat (likely democrat frontrunner, Xavier Becerra) or between two far-left Democrats - Becerra and BILLIONAIRE Tom Steyer. So, I used my vote to both promote Steve and to block a Republican shut-out in November. SEE REAL CLEAR POLITICS polling.
POLICIES - SEE Steve's Key Policies. Some of you may be especially interested in checking out his "Family First Agenda" policies.
A KEY STRATEGY - I especially like the strategy of "the Golden Ticket" slate that Hilton has created, along with the following candidates: Gloria Romero (for Lt. Gov), Michael Gates (for AG), and Herb Morgan (for Controller). This slate of candidates has been campaigning together across the state since January. They have been developing plans so that they can hit the ground running when/if elected, working synergistically and efficiently on important issues. Gloria Romero explains it HERE. Gloria has a keen knowledge of the legislative and political process.
LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR
GLORIA ROMERO
Gloria is running with Steve Hilton, Michael Gates, and Herb Morgan as part of the "Golden Ticket" slate! (You vote for each candidate individually, but they are campaigning and working together.)
Gloria Romero is a former democrat legislator and was the CA Senate Majority Leader from 2005 to 2008. She is an expert on the legislative process and on dealing with various unions.
Over the years she became a big advocate of charter schools, often working with people (regardless of their political affiliations) to promote and defend them. She re-registered as a Republican in the Fall 2024.
While she is not a solid conservative on every issue, she voted for Trump in 2024. She is strong on parental rights, education issues, and is excellent on protecting girls sports. She opposes Democrat authoritarianism, including on the COVID lockdowns, gender identity, crime, and the Democrats war on gas appliances.
Gloria's many Endorsements include:
The California Republican Party, Reform California, and Sen. John M.W. Moorlach (Ret.).
Orange County Board of Education member Mari Barke is a big supporter of Gloria's
and says that she is great on education issues!
SECRETARY OF STATE
